To my Family and Friends , I am pleased and honored to announce my candidacy for Board of Supervisor District 1. During my term as Mayor and City Council, I gained an understanding of the complexities of city government including its capabilities and limitations.Most importantly, the primary role for the Supervisor should be to be an advocate for the people of Calexico and Winterhaven, District 1.
There are many issues that will come before us in the next Four years. They include transportation issues like roads and transit service. In addition, we need to strengthen our community foundations to bring more jobs to County.
Second, the Supervisor should be a vital and active communications link between the people and the County. In my role as a long-time business owner, I’m constantly in touch with both citizens and business owners. I understand their needs and desires.
Third, as Supervisor, I can be a valued partner with County Head Departments , by taking advantage of my experience, skills and perspectives, gained from my 25 years of being self-employed and community activism.
Fourth, because of this experience, I have “people skills” that can be used to bring people together toward common goals and unity.I believe that the foundation of any thriving community should include education, the arts, shopping and recreation. If we want to attract strong companies to the area with better jobs, we must work to enhance and expand these categories.

Para mi familia y amigos, me complace y me honra anunciar mi candidatura a la Junta de Supervisores del Distrito 1. Durante mi mandato como Alcalde y Concejo Municipal, gané una comprensión de las complejidades del gobierno de la ciudad, incluyendo sus capacidades y limitaciones.Lo más importante el papel principal para un Supervisor debe ser un defensor de los habitantes de Calexico y Winterhaven, Distrito 1.
Hay muchas cuestiones que surgirán ante nosotros en los próximos cuatro años. Incluyen los problemas de transporte, como carreteras y el servicio de tránsito. Además, tenemos que fortalecer nuestras fundaciones comunitarias para crear más empleos en el Condado.
En segundo lugar, el supervisor debe ser un enlace vital y comunicación activa entre el pueblo y el Condado. En mi papel como propietario de negocio de largo plazo, estoy constantemente en contacto con los ciudadanos y los dueños de negocios. Yo entiendo sus necesidades y deseos.
En tercer lugar, como supervisor, puedo ser un socio valioso como Jefe del Departamento del Condado. Aprovechando mi experiencia, habilidades y perspectivas, adquirida en mis 25 años como hombre de negocios y el activismo comunitario.
En cuarto lugar, debido a esta experiencia, tengo " don de gentes " que pueden ser utilizados para unir a la gente hacia las metas y la unidad común.Creo que la base de toda comunidad próspera debe incluir la educación, las artes, las compras y la recreación. Si queremos atraer a las empresas fuertes en el área con mejores empleos debemos trabajar, mejorar y ampliar estas categorías.
